I didn't pick Pacquiao to win this fight. He will win this fight because that's his fate. A country that is so poor and desperate will eventually produce a fighter just like him. You know, boxing is not like the NBA (basketball). If you're good in what you do, nobody can stop you. In basketball you have to suck up to the owners, coach, etc just to get attention. In boxing it's pretty simple... you have to knock down your opponent. That's what Pacquiao did. He can never win if he didn't knock out his opponent because he is a FILIPINO. Nobody wants a Southeast Asian champion. That's the reason why they take Yao Ming. There will never be an Indonesian or Thai in NBA, no way.
I tend to agree in a way. It's as if Manny is destined to win big then be celebrated like a hero by his country. Sort of like a fairy tale come true.
And a potentially huge biographic movie in the making to boot.
But, we might be speaking too soon. It's not like all things are considered fair and even. Team Pacquiao has requested advantages to apparently even the field against Cotto. If Cotto busts that notion, it won't look good for Manny.
It still doesn't diminish the hero status bestowed on Pacquiao by his people
even if he were to lose. That's already been established.
