Manny Pacquiao is ready to rumble with Miguel Cotto, five days before their scheduled 12-round welterweight title match at the MGM Grand. This was the sentiment of top trainer Freddie Roach, who told a pack of Manila-based writers that the Filipino pound-for-pound king “knows the gameplan better than me at this point.” “He’s one step ahead of me at all times,” said Roach, who arrived in Las Vegas late Monday night from Los Angeles. “We had a good sparring (earlier), light and easy nice and loose. I’m really happy. We’re ready to go,” said Roach, who will still continue to preside over Pacquiao’s remaining workouts penciled at the IBA Gym. “We’ll slow down here in Las Vegas today but we’ll use the mitts and go to the game plan mentally. Just physically walk through it in the ring. Make sure everyone is in the same page and fight the perfect fight.” Even if the fight is very close, Roach admits he is still watching Cotto’s fights on video. “I watch Cotto f____n’ every day. Manny doesn’t want to watch tape that much, he gets bored after 30 seconds. I explain to him what he does, he sees it and he understands,” added the 49-year-old tactician.
