I dunno. I wouldn't like to call myself latin just because my white master decide to start lumping all the brown people they could find and called them "latin". I mean, why aren't all the peoples that speak the romance languages considered "Latin" since Italian, Spanish and French all come from latin.

But since your using your argument for supporting Cotto because you think he's more cultural similar, well then your argument is flawed. The Philippines have a much stronger cultural connection with Mexico, than Mexico has with Puerto Rico.

As a matter of fact. It is funny that "mexicans" prefer been called "MEXICANS" than latinos since their country's name is not Mexico is Mejico. But since americans can't pronounce Mejico they decide to change the name of their country. They don't care anyway. Tell me if I'm wrong; "Mejicanos en grito de guerra..." If you want to take out the X from Mexico and pronounce it from its Mexica roots, then it will be Mesheeco.

And why it's pronounce with a "J" is because of the spanish.

For example they have a city in Spain called XEREZ, but they pronounce the X with a "J".

I work in a Liquor store & I ask all the Mexicans for bet for Pac-Cotto. Well nobody takes cotto. Everybody's taking Pacquiao. Even my Rican Co Worker thinks Pac KO Cotto. The lone Rican customer I got who's about to bet $300 for Cotto already Backed out!!! Daym!! I'm not gonna make Money for this fight. Nobody want to take my bets!
