Tszyu's best chance would be to fight Mayo exactly the same way he fought Ruelas & Tackie - box & move & accumulate shots.

Gatti is a legit 140 pounder but got killed comming up to 147 by DLH (who doesn't have power)Mayorga would KO Zoo...if Phillps could TKO Zoo what makes you think Mayo can't?

Mayorga is an animal, he took his beating (like a man) against Tito...no one in the 147-154 range is gonna deliver that kind of punishment.

Zoo is a cool cat, but he shouldn't mess with Mayo. Anyhow Mayorga is not gonna go down to 147 anyway.

      Famoso,

You talk about a new Mayorga...Mayo is not gonna become a boxer my friend. He parted ways with Garbiladi (who some thought was an amateurish trainer) and now is bieng trained by some with less expirenece. His main focus is back to POWER, Garbaldi (beileve it or not) was trying to get him to box more. Actually I have some training videos I can post...But back then he would complain that he couldn't hit the Heavy Bag like he used to, now the old Mayo. We will see the mayorga of the six head days...(he is not in the public eye anymore, keeping to himself), lets hope he stays out of trouble and gets in the ring on the 21st.
If Tszyu fought Phillips 10 times he probably would have won 9 of them! He lost a fight that he was winning, big deal! Vince Phillips was a better fighter than Mayorga in the skill dept, not power, but a better overall fighter so what happened to Tszyu 8 years ago in one fight in his whole career is no indication to what would happen if he met Mayorga in the ring! Tszyu became a better fighter because of that loss! Your analogy of Gatti/DLH is from left field. First of all DLH had some good power at welter maybe not Trinidad power but way above average power! Gatti was a different fighter in those days, he was a wild crowd pleasing brawler with no sense of defense, basically Gatti was a punching bag. Today's Gatti is still a crowd pleaser but a more well rounded fighter! Tszyu's power to me is incredible! He KO's his opponents with ease! He lands that one clean punch and its all over! He has become a more powerful fighter with age. I understand the difference now that Trinidad is fighting 3-4 divisions higher than Tszyu, but I think Tszyu's power is just as explosive P4P!

How is it impossible? Tszyu's power won't suddenly disappear at 147 and he is strong enough to handle the weight. Tszyu is a very accurate puncher not some wild swinging fighter like Mayorga.

I'm starting to think Mayorga's power is being overrated by most people. He knocked out Forrest but it was a shot on the temple that he stopped him with not a shot on the chin plus Forrest looked like he was able to continue. In the rematch Forrest fought too cautious in the beginning almost to the point of being scared. By the middle rounds Forrest started getting more confident in what he could do and he was winning the fight then. Mayorga didn't show great power in the rematch. Before the Forrest fight Mayorga knocked out Andrew Lewis but Lewis was known to not have that great of a chin to begin with. In the Spinks fight he landing some good shots that Spinks was able to take and Spinks never seemed hurt in that fight. Then he moves to 154 and doesn't show any great power and even less at 160. I say Mayorga has good power but nothing spectacular.

            Total ****ing mismatch, here.

Mayorga has proven to be the world-class fighter no one thought he was, and he did it in a loss against a bigger, stronger, fatser, BETTER fighter than Kostya Tszyu. Mayorga would laugh at anything Tszyu threw at him and come back harder than Kostya ever saw. This fight wouldn't last four rounds.

            Mayorga KO4 Tszyu

very good u stated forrest could not keep mayorga off & i would say forrest a welter hits a little harder than tszyu a jr welter plus forrest is much taller allowing him to throw power punches & not face as much danger as tszyu would so forget keeping mayorga off with punch now the versatile tszyu would have 2 box but he is not the slick fast clever boxer spinx is tszyu is out of options & ko;d within 9

I would take Mayorga. Trinidad has got power, But Kostya doesn't have close to as much as Tito. Plus Mayorga has pretty good power too, and he can take a punch. I think Mayorga has the chin that Kostya couldn't touch, and Mayorga would win this fight in a late round Knockout, probably 7 or 8.

                      Mayo by ko - 19 votes - 50.00%

I cant believe the voting, i think Tszyu would destroy a fighter like Mayorga.
