It'll be interesting to see if his fight with Ruiz does these sort of numbers. I have my doubts about that because I think the novelty value of Valuev played a big part. The landlady of the local boozer even showed me a life sized pic of his hand(and she cant stand sport) in the news paper and was showing all the regulars that came in,so that shows it gave the national press something to work with.

They might have a job selling Ruiz to the British public because as much as the wider public here like to get behind a heavyweight champ, they arent fooled that easily anymore when It comes to shelling out on a ppv.

How much did David Haye earn for this fight? just out of curiosity.

Very good numbers, good work by Haye and everyone involved in promoting the fight.

I don't know how well Ruiz vs. Haye will do, I have to say it shouldnt be PPV tbh. Firstly, Haye has obviously become a LOT more popular from this fight, but Ruiz doesnt bring the same appeal as the giant, so the fight would eitehr sell less, or sell about the same given Haye's new found status.

The best idea would be to get it on free TV, hype up the fight again (making reference to his win over Valuev, catch the publics eye and imagination again), then put on a fantatic KO in a packed out 02 arena.

Avoiding PPV for this fight will obviously make less money, but in the logn run it'll take Haye even further in popularity, making any subsequent fights HUGE.

It will be bigger because now people will expect Haye to knock out Ruiz (since he's not as big) and with the way Haye talks now it's a beginning of great things

he apprently got £5 out of each ppv buy and if it sold in the UK.

I'm not suprised it did so many PPV's buys with the way hayemaker promotions and Sky sports promoted it the past month. I am very pleased they sold over 500k for it but can't see them selling 100k for the Ruiz fight.

anyone noticed when Warren isn't promoting fighters such as Haye and Hatton they do way bigger nukmbers on PPV than his fighters do?

But with age Valuev looked much slower now adays.
Why would it sell in the States? It wasn't on PPV was it? the were two non American fighters fighting, It was a heavyweight title fight, it was in germany and would of been shown in the USA at 4pm.

It sold well in the UK and Germany and thats all that matters.

With those numbers in mind, Haye earned about 5 million Euro for this fight - more than 3 times the purse of Valuev...

I wouldnt be so sure. I think if its free to air, then it could be huge and Haye could pull in some good money from advertising, but I really dont think ppv will be mega. Fighting 'Igor the freak' sells, but I think even del boy would have trouble flogging 'the quiet man'.

Warren doesnt even make money for his fighters.Hatton started making £1m after leaving Warren,he used to fight for £400k.Calzaghe made more money after Warren as well.Warren's not really that good
