I am not trying to change your mind. I understand where you are coming from, and I also believe that Pac is a great fighter. I am just tired of hearing the "speed kills" phrase that is said on NSB at least 50 times (or more) a day. Speed is a good asset in a boxer, but there are too many other good assets out there that can tame an opponents speed.

I'm not saying you're not right, but having thought extensively about this fight for many months I'm kinda stuck in my ways, though I do try to stay slightly open-minded. But like you get tired of hearing "speed kills", I got tired of hearing "tiiming kills speed", which was posted extensively during the Pacquiao-Hatton buildup. What was funny in the end was Manny ended up being the one with perfect timing, so it worked out exactly the opposite way Floyd Sr had imagined because Manny was so much smarter than Floyd gave him credit for.

It's all good. I'm glad we can communicate like adults and not get all bitchy about it anyway.

To be honest, I just want to see a great fight. I give Cotto props, he's awesome, but I gotta root for my boy Manny and I'm convinced he can win. Oddly enough, if Cotto beat him, I wouldn't really mind at all. Cotto deserves respect because he's a warrior who fights pretty much anyone. I like that. If he beats Manny, he is a worthy winner.

Cotto showed good timin against SSM, but this myth of him timin his way to a win over anybody on earth is ridiculous. You gotta have handspeed of your own to time a quick guy. Cotto ain't a slowpoke, but he's outgunned enuf in handspeed vs Pac that timin ain't winnin it for him. He gotta KO the lil guy, and do it early.

nobody denies that cotto has good timing... but if he tries to time pac coming in he will get sliced up. pac is too fast and the southpaw angles will be too much.

cotto gotta force pac to the ropes and manhandle pac w/ bodyshots and then go upstairs. there's no other viable strategy.

Cotto should be able to time him after about 4 at most 5 rounds and land cleanly with punches that Pac shouldn't be able to handle.....Cotto losing to Pac = humiliation

Sam, you cool with Izrock right? That is my boy (in real life). Anywayz propz to you for understanding that this is going to be a great fight. The reason why a lot of us are undecided about this fight is because of the interesting styles these two fighters have. I mean Cotto has power, can box when he wants to, and has a great jab. Pac has great footwork, and insane speed (an many other assets I left out). With that said, if Cotto did loose to Pac it would be all good since I know he fought with one of the greatest in the sport.
