Now i think this will have an effect when Cotto is being hit Roach's words will come to his mind, he will think he's being hit because there are fundamental flaws in his game his handlers didn't fix, what chances does he have to fix them mid fight? See that's how it works... Panting seeds of doubt.
exactly, all good fighters are good in getting into peoples mind and for some reasons, gets an advantage out of it.

the mayweather family, roach, haye are the best examples of it

      Amen!!

So, when Cotto is in trouble, his mind will tell him to fight to survive. If PAC is in trouble, his mind tells him to fight even harder.

That's nothing to do with Hatton though, that's just Sr. squirting out another gallon of verbal diarrhea. Hatton was over-confident, that was his problem. He completely underestimated Manny's strength, power and ring intelligence. Instead, he tried to overpower Manny and paid dearly for it.

Cotto might also fall in love with his own power. He's certainly been coming out with similar lines to Hatton, about how Manny has never felt the power of a true Welterweight. It's no different than "I'm fookin massive at 140".

Floyd Sr. is just a lunatic. Nobody should take any notice of him, and he certainly doesn't compare to Roach in any way. Roach is a far better trainer.

"You shoulda listened to me from day one! Keep your guard up!"

Great advice... boxing basics! Floyd Sr. tried to teach Hatton boxing basics after 40 something pro fights! LOL.

i agree with you on this one.

boxing is not only physical. some part of it needs some cerebral muscle. floyd and JMM uses a lot of their brain studying their opponents and make changes on their moves at fight time. and i believe trainers play a big part on their fighters when in comes to the strategy in between rounds coz they can see everything from the outside.

come fight night cotto will be fighting pac but he will be thinking about roach.

yes, roach has won the psy war... but the real battle will happen in the ring.
