I think it could be a Hagler-Hearns type fight, but Manny Pacquiao is no Hearns. Two completely different styles.

Cotto is by far more similar to hagler's style than Pac is to hearns'.

Pac is the smaller man, i don't think he'll brawl against Cotto.

forget about the height. cotto style is reminiscent to that of an orthodoxed hagler, and pac style implies similarities of an "unorthodox" version of hearns.
their bread and butter, was/is the jab and the straight hand. though I'm not trying to say cotto will beat pac(hearns hurt his hand, maybe the fight would have a different outcome if he hadn't).

            I doubt it.

Hagler was usually a boxer and counter-puncher, but went with a balls-to-the-wall attack against Hearns because the taller and rangier Hearns was such a master-boxer from the outside.

I doubt Cotto is going to attack Pacquiao in that manner. He'll be more deliberate.

I can see some similarities with Cotto/Hagler, but comparing Pacquiao with Hearns?

There is no one I can compare with Hearns at 147. Williams had the height, but nowhere the destructive power of Hearns. Trinidad had the power, but was completely one dimensional and not nearly as effective from long range; more of a mid range kind of fighter.

More like Tyson vs Spinks or Judah vs Tszyu..with Pac learning to "never play with matches".
