exactly, these people are becomin so ******ed that they forgot all the talks that happened early in the negotiations where it seemed like the fight was not going to happen because of the weight and then again because miguel didn't want to put his belt up for a catch weight fight

there was a reason de la hoya who hadn fought at welterweight for close to a decade came in at 145 an not 147

      THEY WERE THE RULES

why the hell else would he come in 2 pounds under when he struggled to make weight anyway

I agree cotto could have said no to the catchweigh. Actually pacman is the one in the disadvantage here.

Cotto is the one making the smaller guy to come up on his division when he should be the one to go down in the 140lbs because pacman is the man right now. Anyway weither it was on 140-147 still pacman will make him look like an amateur on this fight.

I am sorry but that is totally in accurate as far as cotto is concerned. It was Arum/Manny/Roach who wanted to fight cotto, as the negotiations got underway roach and co wanted cotto to agree to a catchweight of 143-144. cotto did not ask for a catchweight. In fact, when the title was put on the line he wanted the fight to be made at the full welter limit.

now DLH... yea you could pin that bold on him. DLH was the one who was making all the demands in that negotiation.

but 145 came from cottos mouth so that catchweight made it his call. Team pac is just good at negotiating. I bet if cotto stood his ground with 147 the fight wouldve still happened. U think pac will challenge someone publicly then refuse it? Cotto failed at negotiating and agreed to fight at 145. So all credit to team pac for that easy 2 mil if cotto fails to make weight.
