The Haye/ Valuev bout made Holyfield /Valuev look like Ali-Frazier 3. Wow! One of the worst Heavyweight contests in many seasons. The only saving grace came in the final 35seconds when The Giant was buckled by a thunderous right hand. Had the ref not intervened, he may have gone down.
But Title endeavors are 12 stanza affairs and the Russian was the aggressor for most of the bout.
I gave up on the entire division after Evander was robbed in Germany. If Haye/Ruiz is an event that is actually going to take place, that speaks volumes about the state of the big boys. What a waste of time.
And just one question: Why is anyone interested in seeing Areolla again and so soon?
HBO seems to have certain standards for guys who take a beating and then scream for more. Chris was exposed in his clash with Vitali. There is nothing more he can offer given his work ethic and style.
left hand mate
his right hand was broke in round 2,hence why he wasnt as exciting and didnt throw as many punches as he usually does
Do Haye nuthuggers seriously expect either Klit to lose a winks sleep over Haye's Dirrell impersonation last night? Haye will fight Ruiz, win another dull UD, and then look to a Sexton or Chisora domestic match, or a Valuev rematch. He won't want to face either K anytime soon, and isn't an active fighter anyway.
Haye would at least have a puncher's chance against Wlad.
Haye has much more than a punchers chance against Wlad. He has far greater speed, better footwork and movement, and has similar power. Wlad's only big advantages come in the form of his size, jab, and power. Apart from that he is a pretty stationary boxer, who in the past hasn't been too hard to hit. Haye is a skilled, quick, and powerful heavyweight, the like Wladimir has never faced. He is leaps and bounds better than Chagaev, Rahman, Thompson, Ibragimov, Brewster, Austin, and Brock.
It is not a clear cut fight by any means, and could be a case of who lands first.
You had better fight Wlad and swing for the fences. Vitali will put you to sleep. If this fight comes off I will bet all of my points on Vitali stopping Haye.

Did you watch the Chagaev fight??
If you're judging him on the Peter fight or before, that's ridiculous, he's improved by leaps and bounds since then.
