Chad Dawson is missing a Killer Instinct; "IT" quality

He does not possess it. He does not have that "IT" quality either. I dont know if he will ever become a great fighter & achieve superstar status.

Every great superstar fighter or athlete has that undeniable immeasurable IT quality that makes them compelling & worth watching & what separates you from being a great player/fighter from the regular ones. I think you either have it or dont.

Dawson granted is a great talent but he lacks the killer instinct to finish off an opponent & make compelling television.

He's 27. I dont know if he can ever develop that.

    Perfect example of a fighter with the "IT" quality & killer instinct;

    federal inmate James Kirkland.

One look at him & the way he fights, he has it. Younger than dawson & less fights than dawson.

Agree 100%.... No killer instinct at all and whats worse is dawson don't have that paulie malignaggi personality either... If he wants to be a star he needs to be more agressive and look for expectacular finishes..

Lets not make these assumptions about fighters with Johnson x2 and Tarver x2.
Both very cagey, experienced fighters with excellent chins.

that has nothing to do with it. NONE WHATSOEVER.

Chad Dawson has fought much better opposition than James Kirkland but you can see right away that Kirkland has that "IT" quality. It's what stars are made of.

Drew Brees is a great quarterback, so is Tom Brady & Payton Manning.

          The difference?

Tom & Payton have the "IT"quality.

You either have the "IT" quality or you dont. Chad Dawson has great boxing skills & he might make it to the hall of fame but he doesnt have the "IT" quality.

As for the killer instinct, he doesnt have that either. If he had it, he would have put away his last 2 opponents, both 40 years of age.

IMO, dawson could have and should have ended that fight sooner.... too bad he did not...

the most killer instinct I've seen Dawson show was vs those no hopers he fought on Showtime

After the Ademek fight and in between the Tarver + Johnson ones

You notice of how even though Johnson got outboxed by a wide margin in this fight, Dawson was the one stunned a few times in this fight and had bloody lips again? I thought those 115-113 cards were off, but I'm not in the front row listening to the sound effects of each guy's punches landing.

I agree he doesn't have the killer instinct but a KO isn't required to win in boxing....

but WTF are you talking about, the "IT" factor? You make yourself sound foolish saying stuff like that, I bet you can't even explain what you're talking about......
