& here comes the "lack of interest" in the sport excuse.

Seriously that excuse is weaker than amir khan's chin.

Lack of interest? hatton brings 30k for the mayweather fight & 25k for the pacquiao fight but you guys lack interest in the sport? Amir khan fighting in ppv with 18 fights?

Brits are starved for a great boxing champion & you know it just like they are starved for andy murray to be the real deal.

Cmon bro, what's the next lie you want me to dismantle.

What the hell is a "ethnic British man", all those that you have listed except Herbie Hide were born in England.

There is a distinct lack of interest in Boxing in Britain. Football, Cricket F1, Rugby, Tennis, there all more liked in Uk than boxing.
Lots of fans who went over to see Hatton were fans of Hatton not Boxing. Ask them who Carl Froch or Kevin Mitchell are and they couldnt tell you. Most wouldnt of know of Mayweather or Pacquiao before Hatton faced them.

Your not dismantling any lies, your just assuming your opinon is always right. You can think what you like but if you think there is no lack of interest in boxing here in Britain there your wrong. It doesnt even get a regular mention in the newspapers or hasnt had any interest from terrestial television for a long time.

Apologies. I meant to say Englishman which is what the thread title stated. I sometimes say British as if it's the same thing as English, my bad.

            Englishman Ricky Hatton

Frank Bruno. Let me know if you can spot the difference

every small country is starved for sports heroes in any sport. Life is hard enough & a legitimately great sporting hero is used by the media, government, & the people as an escape & make them feel better. Humans are tribal by nature & very nationalistic nature.

Stop trying to be elitist, high & mighty, hypocritical & think that you & your country is above that.

As soon as david haye beats one of the klitsckhos it will go in overdrive.

Your chatting **** now. What you have said in bold there is nothing to do with what i have said. And Im not trying to say my country is anything. Im not even talking about my country, im talking about Britain. England is my country.

All im saying is Britain has a good history in Boxing, especially when you consider its not that popular over here, and most kids growing up will try to get into many other sports and wont even consider Boxing. Like it or nor Britains history in boxing is good.

I am not sure, maybe that you're a supporter of the BNP? or whatever the US equivalent is.
