The fight was not really close.

The British commentator the notoriously negative Jim Watt looks for ways to give it to the non-brit. His reasoning from the outset was that Haye was going to get jobbed unless he really smashed Valuev up, thank god Watt isn't Haye's trainer.

Personally, I think Valuev was more negative than Haye.

Honestly, if he threw more right hands he might have been KTFO if the 12th round is anything to go by. Valuev fought a very tactically astute fight for a guy with no real boxing talent. He gave Haye nothing to counter.

Wlad would do the exact same thing, except Haye would be getting nailed with jabs. So Haye would need a different gameplan for that, most probably jump on Wlad until somebody gets KTFO, possibly in the 1st round.
