    Toney Should Retire

With all the talk about Holyfield and other older boxers needing to retire; why did everyone forget to mention Toney.
First of all, his speech is so badly slurred you can barely make out anything he is saying. For example in his recent press conference with John Ruiz all I could make out was an occassional, " punk", " *****", " i dont play boxing" , " boy" etc. I'm sure each of these were connected by verbs, nouns, and other parts of language; I just couldnt make any of it out.

Seriously though, has he always been like this, or has his speech and cognitive function dramatically declined over the years.

yeah, i was actually joking more than anything. but really i was wondering if his speech has always been like that. i never really followed him that much. b/c if he used to talk like ali, roy jones, or lennox lewis, then he may have some brain damage settin in

Toney has always had problems with the English language. He has always swore and allot of people find it hard to understand his speach, even when he was 25 yrs old! He hasn`t taken too much punishment over the years because of his defence and savy. And if the level of heavyweight competition are the likes of John Ruiz and Evander Holyfield ( an old Holy ) then its not likely to change! If you wanna retire someone show concern for people whom have showed ALARMING effects through boxing. I.E

            Evander Holyfield
            Rid**** Bowe
            Juilo Cesar Chavez
            Kevin kelly

These fighters were exceptional world class operators whom skills have faded to such an extent that they are now vunerable and your concern would be appreciated!

Why should he retire?? He thinks he is "The best God damn Heavyweight period"
I hate the guy! But that's what makes him famous.
So until someone in the heavyweight division totally humiliates him, retirement is not an option. And he will become a world champion! So why stop now???

              Bad post!

I agree, he needs to retire and leave room for savage tigers like John Ruiz to roam free. I am worried that Toney's ugly style will ruin this fight. Ruiz usually makes for exciting fights but Toney's defensive nature could spoil it.

toney needs to cement his legacy first, he'll savagely attack johnny louise cause james needs that WBA belt, although i'd rather see him take the IBF belt ( to complete his collection ) or both...JT gonna lay the same beatdown on tha manlover that he gave to holy, when he gets a belt, or two, he'll retire
