Anyone will go down if they get hit with the perfect shot. Manny was not planting his punches with De la Hoya because of the reach advantage. He stated this on the post-fight presser, saying that he was afraid of that left hook. Even when PAC had DLH on the ropes, he only peppered him with 3-5 punch combinations in bursts (backing off everytime), most of which landed on the upper part of Oscar's head. The shot he delivered to Hatton was a perfectly timed/planted powershot right on the sweet spot (chin). I don't think Hatton would've have gone down as he did if it was in a different location, maybe KD'd but not unconscious.
