I'm not big on this guy, I was once a huge fan up until the Baldomire fight. He used to be my second favorite fighter after Hopkins BITD, but I have lost most of my respect for him. Saying that, the hate he receives from some on this site for no apparent reason is appalling. Knock him for fighting cupcakes, and caring more for a 0 than having a real legacy, but is it really important to call him a ****sexual, drag his name through the mud, insult his family, and do almost anything to portray him in a negative light?

I recognize his skill, and to me he is one of the best skilled if not, the best skilled of this generation, however I do rate a number of fighters from this era higher than him in terms of greatness.

Saying that a lot of you need to actually sit back and read some of the vulgar statements made about him for reasons outside of boxing day after day. Getting back to the point I agree that everyone has the right to, and should knock his lack of ambition to expand his legacy, but is personally insulting him for no reason necessary? I believe it is not, and most of you should believe so as well.

Its one thing to disagree with the decisions Floyd has made since turning WW, but don't throw away every thing he's accomplished prior.

And this latest trend of low level insults is not what any true boxing fan should be about. Floyd is entitled to do whatever he pleases with both his life and career - and many of those condemning him haven't accomplished nothing of note with their own lives ... So, it become easy to discredit.

As I've always stated - I'm a fan of Floyds Boxing skill, but I do question his decision of adopting the bad-boy image, for the sake of generating income. It has given those with a limited knowledge, fuel for the fire. Because many of those who speak ill of Floyd don't really know how different he is outside of his boxing bad-boy persona. And this is the reality of things.

It all comes down to MATURITY as a fan of the sport of boxing. Children spew insults wildly without concern and when I read the many threads slamming Floyd for all kinds of outrageous **** .... I just shake my head in shame ....... because -

NO TRUE BOXING FAN WOULD GO THERE WITHOUT SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF FACT.

If anything I would like to see all so-called boxing fans grow up to discuss boxing as a sport, not as a sideshow.

And this doesn't apply to only Floyd, but Pac-Man, Cotto and others .....

It's not a dig at Floyd. I respect what he's achieved in boxing and in life and he is very entertaining personality. Only boxers I dislike are Oscar and Mayorga but I wouldn't say even a 1/10th of the personal stuff that people say about some fighters on here unchecked.

Mayweather is a great fighter with real skill. But, at Welter he hasn't show an interest in fighting the best. He talks a lot of **** about other fighters while at the same time avoiding them like the plague. Always has excuses for everything, is very disrepectul in interviews and thinks he's a bigger deal than he is. That's why he gets the heat he does. But some of these rumors and personal attacks get out of hand sometime.
