Is Roach Nervous: Never seen him talk so much trash

I've never seen Freddy Roach talk so much trash. I'm beginning to think that he is actually nervous about the fight and is trying to make Cotto fight mad, sloppy and open so that Manny can win.

I mean the amount of trash talking that is coming from him is on par with Mayweather Sr. if not more.

Its all just trying to get inside of Cotto's head, thats what the whole 145 is all about, its all psychological manuevers. If you can put in Cotto's mind for one second that 145 may affect him it will play into Pac's hands. We all saw what happened to Oscar, if for one second during training or during the fight Cotto has an ounce of doubt because of the weight it could be just enough for him to change his way of fighting. Roach is doing this because he knows its not Manny's temperment to say such things.

I know what your talking about. I think in DLH's case it worked. I think a fully rehydrated DLH would've been a much tougher opponent (not that he would've necessarily won but would've been more competitive at least).

However, I think that his escalation of trash talking is him worrying about Cotto as a serious serious threat and is trying to make Cotto not fight like Cotto.

Well, who doesn't want to get the psychological edge in the fight. The thing is, it's not really affecting Pacquiao perse because Roach is doing all the talking. Cotto on the other hand is the one who seems to be responding directly to them.

Could be trying to show confidence. Cotto is talking more than usual, but I'm sure it's because of the exposure. Roach never talks this much and he has been in big fights before.
