  • Mitchell vs Prescott is The Right Fight, Says Frank Warren

Promoter Frank Warren is set to pit Kevin Mitchell against Colombian dangerman Bredis Prescott - who knocked out Amir Khan in 54 seconds last year - in a WBO final eliminator. Mitchell, the British super-featherweight champion, will step up to lightweight, where he has boxed before, in order to take on Bredis. Warren, however, told The Times that Dagenham’s Mitchell, 25, is ready for this type of fight. [details]

If it goes 12, Mitchell wins a descision. If somebody scores KO it will be Prescott!!

This fight is a real out of the blue one. I think Prescoot may be able to get the KO, Mitchell gets hit far to much. Lets wait and see.....

I like Mitchell, but this is a real bad matchup for him. Mitchell's biggest flaw is that he is so easy to hit, and Prescott's only talent is his power. I think he'd be far better off going after the champions in his own weightclass, I'm sure at least one of them would be interested in fighting him.

            wtf?

            really?

I had no idea Kevin Mitchell even had any concerns making weight. I'd have backed Kevin Mitchell to take out Rocky Martinez but Prescott is too big. Prescott is very ordinary but as has been said, I'm pretty sure some of us could land punches on Mitchell, nevermind the 8'3 Columbian with a wingspan of a boeing 747.

Frank Warren really does take far more risks these days. This is probably a shocker.

If Kevin wins though, his name really is up in lights.

If Mitchell doesn't have a glass jaw then he will easilly win a decision.

Am not sure why its taking so long for Mitchell to get his chance at a world title, I know Warren is looking for a champion that would be easy to beat for him but Mitchell needs to be thrown in with anyone at the moment.

Prescott isnt that good apart from his power if he lands it properly like he did against Khan and Mitchell is known to use his face for his defence, If Kevin can discipline himself and box then he takes this fight easily.

There are very few boxers who could take Prescott's best shots for 12 rounds.

Prescott's power will diminish as the fight goes on and his punches will get slower and wider.

IF he can survive the first 6 rounds or so then he has the fight won.
