Pacquiao or Cotto: Who is the sentimental favorite?

Both fighters have great reputations as fighters as well as men outside the ring. What I want to know is "Who is the sentimental favorite" to win this fight? Not exactly who you want to win personally, but who is the sentimental favorite? Here's some points for both.

Pacquiao - His career that began at 106 was always a sentimental pick. "Can this little guy keep winning?", "Can he continue to rise up the scales?" There are many reasons to root for Manny Pacquiao. However, recently fans were given another reason. The Tsunamis that hit Pacquiao home of the Phillipines left the country in tragedy. Homes destroyed, life lost, and a country broken. Pacquiao is an icon in his country and the people caught in this mess give Pac a purpose for this fight.

Cotto - Steamrolling his way through the welterweight division seemed easy until he came across Antonio Margarito. Although he was game and showed great skill against Margarito, in the end he was a beaten and battered man. His corner threw in the towel after Cotto was forced to take two knees to avoid more punishment and the once unbeaten Cotto, had now been soundly conquered. Fast forward to Margarito's next match with Mosley, when Margarito is caught using plaster in his wraps. Immediately su****ions arise, people begin to think that maybe there's more to Cotto's loss to Margarito then we originally thought. As Marg is found guilty and the su****ions of past use swirl throughout the boxing community, Cotto becomes more popular as the fans rally around him because of the presumed truth.

So I ask, who is the sentimental favorite. The man on top of the boxing world with a suffering country behind him? Or the man who was beaten and victimized by a cheater?

Pacquiao is the one. He's the smaller man, looking for a record setting championship, and having a tragedy struck country full of hope, expecting a victory. I think that even from an objective point of view, not influenced by nationality, Pacquiao would still be.

So you think even by individual standards, Pac is the sentimental favorite? Taking out what happened in the Phillipines and everything? Because his life wasn't ruined by the tsunami. Whereas Cotto's career and health were specifically at risk.
