Chagaev was recovering from his hepatits infection and a long layoff give him a break.

That said, Chagaev isn't much to write home about and besides the Klits, the division is at the weakest it's probably ever been.

His hepatitus seems to be permanent, so him fighting with that is who he is as a fighter.

Anyway, he's a good fighter... just so inactive that he has to barely win fights. It's kind of disappointing.

Flores - We'll wait until he fights someone before making any determination of how he would do against the big boys.

Adamek has an aggressive style, and a chin that can't be beat.
Yeah, I wasn't really being realistic with Hopkins, Jones, Dawson, Johnson going up to HW, it was more of a "hey why not" type of suggestion, you know? like out of curiosity. Like Pacquiao going from 135 to 147 to fight De La Hoya, most dismissed Pacquiao of a win but were still curious about the fight. Or like Hopkins going up to 175 from 160 to fight Tarver, most thought Hopkins would get murdered but instead Tarver got executed and embarrassed for 12 rounds. Jones going from 175 to Heavyweight to fight Ruiz, a lot of people were curious to see if Jones could have handled a true Heavyweight.

This kind of thing really shows how bad of shape the heavyweight division is in.

It's the Klitschkos, Kevin Johnson (for another month or so...), David Haye, Eddie Chambers and Alexander Povetkin as far as I'm concerned that are worth any mention in the division.
All of these fighters even if they would get ko'd by Wlad would land more than 9 punches on Wlad over 10 rounds which is all Chagaev could do......so yeah I agree.

I'm especially annoyed with the current practise of building up an undefeated record against journeymen and being given an undeserved title shot for it, see Chris Arreola/Kevin Johnson.

I would've thought you had to beat atleast one top 10 contender to get a shot at the title.

My respect goes to Eddie Chambers who has fought Alexander Povetkin, Samuel Peter, Alexander Dimitrenko and Calvin Brock.

The problem is the over emphasis on a win/loss record all together....so would an unbeaten prospect who has beaten nothing but cans be better than Rocky Juarez who has fought the best? I don't think so, this is one aspect of mma I like.....the lack of emphasis on wins vs losses.
