Let's look back at his opponents, starting from 2005:

Arturo Gatti - Mayweather called out Kostya Tzsyu (Ring Magazine jr. welterweight champion) in a post-fight interview but nothing materialized. Tzsyu then went on to lose to Hatton.

Instead, he fought Gatti, who was rated #1 by Ring Magazine before Mayweather beat him.

Sharmba Mitchell - His first fight in the welterweight division. More of a tune-up for the weight. Many fighters have done this.

Zab Judah - Was the current IBF and former Ring Magazine welterweight champion. He was seen as one of the best possible opponents to beat Mayweather.

Carlos Manuel Baldomir - Beat Judah and was the current Ring Magazine and WBC welterweight champion.

Oscar de la Hoya - He was the WBC light middleweight champion and many fans wanted to see this fight. Oscar was considered the cash king and a bout with Mayweather was suspected to bring in big numbers. It did.

Ricky Hatton - Many people wanted to see this fight. Hatton was the Ring Magazine jr. welterweight champion and was rated by Ring Magazine as a top 10 P4P fighter. Mayweather wanted the fight to take place at welterweight. That was understandable since Mayweather just compated one weight division higher. Also, Hatton was once a world champion in the division, before vacating it.

Juan Manuel Marquez - Rated as the #2 P4P fighter. Yes, he was a lightweight but so was Pacquiao before he fought Oscar. We all saw what happened to Oscar.

Mayweather thought this would be a good idea since it was his return fight and the fight would bring in good numbers. It did.

Why he didn't fight the following fighters:

Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito - Were associated with Top Rank. Mayweather and Arum had a lot of problems with each other and couldn't come to agreements.

Shane Mosley - Mayweather called out Mosley many times but Mosley didn't want to fight, at the time.

Make what you want of it.

Ducked, isn't the correct word, until Mosley.

He made other choices, for money. Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. It might take away from your legacy, but I can't hate a man for providing for his family and future.

But, if he's the draw he claims he is, he should be able to draw with anyone. I think he can, for the most part. So, that means money shouldn't be an issue with Mosley.

Claiming that he wanted to but now doesn't want to fight Mosley, because he didn't say 'yes' soon enough, is a duck.

I doubt he is doing this because he is afraid, it's because he wants more money, for less risk. I understand that.

But Mayweather fans should call it what it is. He is avoiding the harder fight, for what he feels would be an easier fight for more money. All there is to it.

It's fine. He's not afraid. Nothing to be ashamed of. He's just trying to make money. But, his legacy will suffer. He's claimed he isn't much concerned with legacy, so his fans need to simply face the truth.

Its not a question of who he's directly ducked. He hasnt fought a truly tough or challenging fight against the best available comp since the Castillo rematch in 2002.

          That says it all.

Floyd : I wont fight you because i called you out before and you didn't respond

WTF? is that a legit excuse? Just because Floyd called out shane before its alright if he ducks him now? And some even defend that excuse? WTF??!!
Mosley had his chance and he blew it. He disrespected Floyd by refusing to give him a shot, so now Floyd is doing exactly the right thing to make sure he never gets the payday he wants. Mosley don't have a chance to beat Floyd anyway, so how is it ducking to pass up an easy W?

Ellerbe said Mayweather opted for the buyout so he could be "more in control of when and who he fights next. It's as simple as that. There is nothing bad between Floyd and Bob."
