First this is not a thread of hate towards any fighter. Im getting tired of all the comparisons between Mannys last opponents and Miguel , Non of them were the same.Im going to break down to my understanding just to clarify.
First of 3 of his last 5 opponents were mexican. 1 of mexican descent and Hatton.
First of . Hatton -no gameplan, strategy or defense. thats all I really have to say , He is not over rated , or underrated , but those are the facts , Hatton was a low resource fighter, Wether it was his decision to fight that way or not , he did. And he accomplished a lot , which is kind of impressive.
De la hoya- hall of famer , one of the greatest of all time. BUT. wayyyyyyyyy past his prime , and wayyyyyyy under the weight he should be fighting at , not that he SHOULD be fighting at all.
ok BARRERA - MARQUEZ - DIAZ
they are not the same , each of them has imo different skills that stand out and separates them from each other. Imo Barrera was the best overall fighter of them all , then Marquez , and Diaz. and thats "boxing wise".
Like we all know the 3 had heart , THEY ARE MEXICAN AFTER ALL.
Power , imo goes to Barrera , as natural power , and then maybe Diaz as size strenght=power, if u understand what im saying. And then Marquez.
speed has to go to either diaz or marquez.
now , the style that helped the most was Marquez as he was imo the best counter-puncher with good speed out of the 3 of them.
And this is what might bring in some heat to the topic , but
MEXICAN FIGHTERS , SACRIFICE TOO MUCH , THEY ARE TOO PROUD IMO , AND WILL SACRIFICE GETTING HIT TO TRY TO DO SOME DAMAGE , AND MAYBE (IMO) JUST MAYBE , NOT SAYING THEY DONT HAVE DEFENSE , BUT JUST MAYBE , IF THEY DIDNT SACRIFICE THEMSELVES TOO MUCH , AND TRIED TO BOX JUST A LIL MORE , THOSE FIGHT WOULD HAVE HAD A DIFFERENT OUTCOME.
THESE WERE MY PREDICTIONS FOR THOSE FIGHTS.
i HAD BARRERA OVER PACQUIAO
PACQUIAO OVER DIAZ , BY DECISION
AND MARQUEZ AND PACQUIAO WAS TOO CLOSE TO DECIDE.
THATS BEFORE THE FIGHTS HAPPENED.
I thought Barrera was the better fighter of them all!!!
ok , now , THAT DOES NOT MEAN ****!!!!!! de la hoya and hatton did not have a chance , Barrera , Marquez , and Diaz (with Diaz being the last one) gave Pacquiao the three hardest fights of his life up to now. Im not saying Cotto will for sure be the hardest one. As styles make fights , and It is yet to be proven. But Why so many comparisons , between "left handed fighters" "southpaws" etc etc etc.
NOTE: I did not include Morales in here cuz i Decided to make it last 5 fights , or it was going to be even longer
