Miguel Cotto: "Pacquiao is in trouble"

The Puerto Rican Champion trained in Los Angeles and affirm "Pacquiao is in trouble"

Optimism in Miguel Cotto is a combination of confidence and conviction, but 10 days of his crucial fight against Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas, his winning attitude borders on obstinacy.

That was the feeling that left yesterday when he met with reporters at a downtown gym in Los Angeles, where he made a practice of enlisting expensive to refine details of his battle with the Filipino southpaw who may well become the fight of the year.

Cotto and Pacquiao, undoubtedly the two most impactfull fighters of this time will meet on Saturday November 14 in the stellar fight the bill "Fire Power" of Top Rank agreed in a crash at 147 where the risks his boricua title of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) against a champion eater, who has turned the stage in Las Vegas working at home.

"I'm ready to win. We have left nothing to chance. I have not thought of something else and the one that will have a problem to solve is the day of the Pacquiao fight, I'm the best at 147 pounds and right there I will prove it, "said Miguel Cotto frontally.

All confidence, no humility or submission. A calculated dose of respect for the opponent, but a priori the Puerto Rican doesn't give anything.

"On 14 November, intersect the biggest fight with his most dangerous rival?

"Of the biggest fight I do not know because after it can be very relative. I do believe that Pacquiao is not my most dangerous rival. I had other big fights and I have fought other great fighters, he (Pacquiao) is just one more. "

Manny Pacquiao comes from sweeping the table in front of men of proven track record and sign as Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and Juan Manuel Marquez and is today, without the prior name of Floyd Mayweather Jr. - the best fighter pound for pound the world, but of that Cotto is not worried nor distracted by a single second.

"Pacquiao has already won big fights but not at 147 pounds ... that day is going to fight me and we'll see how it feels when you enter the hands of a true welterweight like me. He has been highly acclaimed and very winning but at 130 pounds and you also know this, "he added confidently.

In this sense their coach Joe Santiago, who debuts in Cotto's corner in a big battle, believes in assessing the recent triumphs of the Pinoy in their right perspective.

"Pacquiao beat Oscar De La Hoya when he was in declain ... leaving boxing and then he beat (Ricky) Hatton who is a boxer defenseless and and with no boxing skills... at 140 pounds, "says Santiago who moved translated the concern to the Camp of Roach-Pacquiao. "The speed of Pacquiao we have it have worked ... I do not know how they will work against the power of Miguel. "

After their setback against Antonio Margarito by knockout when he fell 16 months ago, the Puerto Rican beat Michael Jennings by knockout and Joshua Clottey by decision in a fierce battle in New York."

"We have worked on improving tools that help us in this fight. There is a point in the preparation that we must look at what brings the opponent and that's already been dealt. Maintaining the strengths of my boxing and strengthen my weaknesses. "

He admitted that have worked many rounds with sparring partners changed to guard accustomed to the pace and walked on the ring which engages a lefty.

Faced with a southpaw Zab Judah fast as you had no problems. Does this mark a reference in the face of this battle?

"No. .. nothing to do. Judah and Pacquiao are completely different fighters."

Different because the New Yorker is an expert at dodging and does not pull many punches. Pacquiao has written its history as the fastest and most destructive of his time.

Pacquiao's speed is his main weapon and all his rivals know that and take precautions to control it but despite this, then the speed of Pacquiao becomes the key factor.

What will you do to avoid being a victim of the speed of Pacquiao as have others?

"I'm not anybody. I am Miguel Cotto and when I sign up for this fight we knew what kind of boxer Pacquiao was and we knew we could win. Today I am even more sure that I will win. "

He did not hide behind the discourse and rhetoric of the promotion and promises a fight to the bottom without saving anything.

"How do you beat Pacquiao? It is a mixture of many things. With intelligence, good defense and punishing, throwing him many punches, "is the final betting of Cotto.

That as far as he can tell. The rest is a secret that is going to be unveil November 14 at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas.

                    I love this quote!

"I know Pacquiao has won a lot of important fights but that was at a 130 pounds. That day he will fight with me and let's see how he feels when the hands of an authentic welter hit him"
                    Cotto got his swager back!
