EBU middleweight champion Matthew Macklin, 27, is set to return to Ireland when he takes on Rafael Sosa Pintos over ten-rounds at the National Stadium, Dublin on the 5th of December. Macklin won the British and European belts this year with KO wins over Wayne El****, for the British, and Amin Asikainen, for the European. The Birmingham-born fighter boxes out of Manchester and he also draws a lot of Irish support; four of his 25 wins - 18 early with only two defeats - took place on the Emerald Isle. [details]

id like to see macklin take on a sturm, mundine or a winky wright. im hoping pintos is just a warm up bout before he takes on one of those bigger names. the fact that this pintos fight is ony 10 rnds leads me to think that it is a warm up bout.
id like to see macklin in against john duddy, that would be a huge irish fight!!! with j.moore moving up to 160 im hoping to see macklin and moore go at it again!! that fight would also make for a mega-fight.
