Anyone Else Excited For The Fights This Saturday Night?

    Let's go Chad Dawson.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING: CHAD DAWSON VS. GLEN JOHNSON II AND ALFREDO ANGULO VS. HARRY JOE YORGEY
HBO Sports presents a highly anticipated rematch between two accomplished warriors of the ring when WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING: CHAD DAWSON VS. GLEN JOHNSON II AND ALFREDO ANGULO VS. HARRY JOE YORGEY is presented live SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7 (9:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. PT) from the XL Center in Hartford, CT. The WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING team will be ringside for the event, which will be presented in HDTV and in Spanish on HBO Latino.
Undefeated Chad Dawson (28-0, 17 KOs), will be putting his perfect record on the line. Hailing from New Haven, Conn., Dawson first won a world title in 2007, dominating then undefeated belt-holder Tomasz Adamek. Letter perfect in his pro career, Dawson has complied a string of title defenses and impressive victories including two unanimous decisions over former world champion Antonio Tarver. However, none of these were as competitive as a narrow victory over Glen Johnson in their first fight. Dawson looks to silence any doubters and prove once and for all that his perfect record is indicative of his place at the top of the sport.

Former light heavyweight champion and a Boxing Writers Association of America "Fighter of the Year" selection, Glen Johnson (49-12-2, 33 KOs) is looking to avenge a controversial loss to Dawson by unanimous decision in April 2008. The Jamaican born resident of Miami, FL. is widely regarded as one of the top competitors in the deeply stocked light heavyweight division. After capturing a world light heavyweight title in 2004, Johnson has experienced a career renaissance winning seven of his last nine bouts. with his only losses being close decisions to Clinton Woods and Dawson. At 40, Johnson recognizes he is at the crossroads of his career and he is seeking to make this fight the most rewarding of his career.

The opening bout is a potentially explosive battle as rising star Alfredo Angulo of Coachella, CA, (16-1, 13 KOs) meets Harry Joe Yorgey of Bridgeport, PA (22-0, 10 KOs) in a 10-round junior middleweight encounter. Angulo has been climbing the 154 pounds ladder quickly and Yorgey is a crafty, all-action fighter who is seeking to put another speed bump in front of the power-hitting knockout artist.

Yeah, looking forward to Haye-Valuev and Johnson-Dawson II. Not much of an Angulo fan, so I don't care about that one, but I'll watch. Should be a good night!
