That's bull****. Stubhub is a commercialized scalping website that has done nothing but contribute to overpriced ticketing. Try go on ticketmaster and get good tickets to a hot event that's supposed to sell out, it's damn near impossible because these *******s are scooping everything up.

If you make money off Stubhub, good for you, but it's wrong and their practices as a company need to be outlawed. Do you know that code word you have to enter on Ticketmaster? That's only there because of Stubhub and other ticketing sites. Those *******s created a computer program to mass purchase tickets on ticketmaster, so ticketmaster had to put the code in so they couldn't do that. Instead they hire hundreds of Indians to sit at a computer, type in that code, and buy the max amount of tickets.

Stubhub and third party ticketing websites are taking the ability for a family to go to a good ball game at a reasonable price. They're taking already overpriced tickets and making them 3x as expensive. Anyone that thinks Stubhub is a fair and reasonable operation should do some research. These guys are some of the slimiest people I've seen.

      Is StubHub a broker?
No. The tickets listed on StubHub come directly from season ticket holders and other fans. StubHub simply manages transactions between the buyer and seller. The event can still be sold out.
Not all the tickets. They buy tickets too, don't be mistaken.

        DAns,

I was under the impression that Stubhub was "the eBay for tickets". That is, SH provided the venue/marketplace and took a commission. But you were buying from another entity.

Just like a flea or stock market.

          .
          Dans,

In this day and age, the words "sold out" are largely meaningless. If the brokers perceive an event to be remotely commercial, they scoop up the tickets. And the promoters WANT them to.

But, it isn't mostly SH. I think the industry was more affected by Empire tickets, ticketcenter, etc. Those guys have teams of buyers in Mumbai who manually buy tickets to by-pass the captcha.

I am not debating anything your saying.
The purpose of my posts were to show that the fight can still be sold out and the thread starters "proof" by showing stub hub and ticket center has tickets available is NO PROOF the fight is not sold out.

True, these are worse than SH.

                  I would agree with that.
