Cotto had something taken out of him

    What exactly?

He did what he was supposed to do against Jennings, and persevered despite a terrible cut with a victory over Clottey.

When people say that something was taken out of Cotto in the Margarito fight, what are they talking about? I still see the same determination, I still see the same warrior spirit. I still see the ability to go in there and kick some ass. I think people just want to dismiss him because of one questionable loss, that, and perhaps people are afraid of him being the best welterweight in the world.

So again, when its said that, "Cotto had something taken out of him", what exactly are people talking about?

Most who say that are pac haters... To discredit pac... Cotto is in his absolute prime 28 yrs old with a lot of big fight experience..

For one, the spirit of invincibility. No one really knows how bad it was physiologically but it looks as if he came out of it ok. Some fighters just never come back from a brutal beating.

I think just maybe a tiny bit of confidence was lost but beating Jennings and a win over Clottey is a nice confidence booster.

It probably has more to do with his aura. And im sure he lost some confidence.

He did get something taken out of him. Cotto just hasn't look right.

In the Clottey fight, he was backing up straight back and didn't look right when he was tired. I don't like his body language, he hasn't looked as confident as he use to. He's had bad cuts before and he treated it like less than nothing, it wasn't the same.

I'm not sure if he did it in the Mosley fight, but in the Clottey fight, he was backing up straight back instead of laterally.

I agree, Alot of people are using the Clottey fight as a argument to say that Cotto isnt the same fighter, but they fail to realize that he still is the same fighter, All the top WW's have a good chance of beating each other at any given night, Clottey, Mosely,PBF,Cotto. No one has blown Clottey out, he is a top WW and would give any of the top WW a loss on any given night. If Pac beats Cotto its going to be huge for Pac and trust me PBF wouldnt want anything to do with fighting Pac. But I dont see him beating Cotto.
