Forrest was the same guy that everybody thought got a gift decision against an old Quartey and went on to split fights with Sergio Mora. And we know that Mora was a guy who got handled by Margarito in sparring. No disrespect to Forrest, because he was a good fighter in his prime, but I'm just using him as the reason why Baldomir was never that great. Margarito was talking about fighting Baldomir in Tijuana. Baldo was perceived as a tune up fight for Margo after Tony got destroyed by Shane. Floyd took the path of least resistance by taking the fight with Baldomir.
This thread was created for absolutely no other reason than to let people like him say dumb stuff like this. There's enough negative **** you can say about Floyd that makes more sense, to say anything about him fighting Baldomir over Margarito is just ******, but it's ok I know it hurts some of you haters to know that Floyd is as talented as he is, he arrogant and flashy and you haters wanna see his take a beating but no one you've ever backed to do it has ever came close.

As for Mayweather, it has been well chronicled that he turned down an offer of $8 million from Top Rank to face Margarito. Arum tried every trick in the book to lure Mayweather into the ring, carrying on a year-long campaign. Instead, Mayweather took fights less challenging and for smaller money against Sharmba Mitchell, Judah and Baldomir before he hit the jackpot last year with De La Hoya, and then again with blown-up junior welterweight Ricky Hatton.

          That number keeps changing.

First, Floyd said that he got 8 mil AND the linear title, that's why he chose Baldomir over Margarito.

When he realized what crock that was, he said he got eight million + 1 dollar.

          Then he said 10 million.

          Then it went to 12.

Floyd ducked Margarito and I think, right then, I began to look at him different.

When people don't like you sometimes they just never will, Floyd could give his haters every fight they want and win and they would still talk ****. Why is anyone even talking about a man who just came off suspension for cheating, why even mention this man who shamed himself, Margarito deserves no respect not even enough to be mentioned right now.

I question that in the case that Floyd made the same amount fighting Baldomir as he would against Margarito, and he earned a minimum of $6 million against Judah...

Dan Rafael reported he got at least $8 million...

Floyd Mayweather Jr., widely regarded as the pound-for-pound king, will challenge welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir Nov. 4 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

I don't know if Floyd was scared of Margarito but I always thought he chose Judah and Baldomir just to spite Bob Arum to be honest.

That was the same offer to fight Margarito. I believe that article even says so.
