Malignaggi-Diaz Rematch Heads To The UIC in Chicago

Sources close to the promotion have informed BoxingScene.com that the junior welterweight rematch between Paul Malignaggi and Juan Diaz is heading to the UIC Pavilion (University of Illinois at Chicago) in Chicago. The venue is usually scaled to seat 7 to 10,000 people. Junior welterweight Victor Ortiz appears in the co-feature against Antonio Diaz. HBO will televise both fights. [details]

Yes, the winner will be the WBO's #1 contender and will hold the NABO belt. But as I mentioned in the tourney thread, he will most likely be forced to fight the the interim NABO champion (Kenny Galarza 11-0 11 KOs) while Peterson and Bradley duke it out.

Galarza have the power and skills to beat Ortiz, not the experience. in 6 more fighst he can beat him, but he aint ready, not know.

Not sure what Ortiz has to do with the NABO title, but how do you think that he would fair against Diaz?

Man, Ortiz have lots of skills, if his mind is right, he can beat anybody at 140. I think Diaz is a good test for him. Diaz will land some and wont fold easily.

If Ortiz is right mentally and fights like he can, he will TKO Diaz in 8, if he gets hits and starts backing up like he did against Maidana, he will lose.

he just needs to use his boxing skills, and mix presuure with boxing and he will be fine!!

Galzarza, can beat Diaz too, Malignaggi would be a real test though. Galzarza really hits hard and he ets come forwd fighters live. he still doesnt have teh experienco though, in 5 or 6 more fights, he will be making noise. Malignaggi at this point would school him bad!!!
