Originally posted by BennyST View PostI was just wondering about that post too. Kessler is most definitely not a straight-line fighter. He does have very good footwork and moves very well in circles. It will be a very good fight.
However, if you watch him long enough, you'll notice that he uses his footwork to get in and out of range quickly, and to make quick little turns and cuts to make his opponents miss.

Originally posted by Shadows View PostI believe his footwork is underrated. I think people tend to say it sucks because he doesn't move around the ring at a blazing speed.

I think Kessler will have to go out and get Wards respect early, try to get him boxing only moving backwards in a more predictable fashion.
Kessler was able to stalk and cut the ring off against Mundine, who I think Ward will try to emulate. The only thing is, I view Ward as a much more talented fighter.
Ward is faster, no question, but I don't believe the difference between the two is as big as some are saying. Plus, I believe Kessler's timing and experience will allow him to offset Ward's speed.

Kessler looked rusty vs. Perdomo, but Kessler.s killer instinct, power, aggression and hunger seemed to be at its best ever. I.l guess a lose can do that to a proud fighter

The thing with Ward is that we really don't know what he's capable against elite fighters at the pro level. This is a huge step up in class for him and there are too many questions about him to make an accurate pick.
Those questions will be answered one way or another though come fight time.
