I like Ward, he has skill and whats more I like his attitude, unlike Andre Direll who has the class of a $2 hooker.

Its unfortunate that he has to fight kessler but i think he may win a few rounds in this fight

He's got brilliant accuracy and does not waste punches.

He's got a very strong will. He's looked defeat (knocked down) in the face and come back from it.

He prepares for every opponent by studying them, but also places a huge emphasis on adapting in the ring.

He knows how Kessler lost to Calzaghe, the blueprint has been written.

      More than 80 amateur fights.

He married the woman that gave birth to his children before he was 20. No need for a playboy lifestyle, he only has his career and family to think about.

He's been trained to push, when you can no longer go on.

      Gold at the Olympics.

      Fighting at home.

This guy does not know how to lose.
Great points and I agree with much of what you say.
Ward was a thug when he was younger and nobody messed with him. He grew up a fighter. He took this talent at a young age and dedicated his life to boxing. He has made and surpassed every challenge put in front of him. Virgil Hunter is a very clever trainer and I have high respect for him. He is the intangible that nobody knows about.

Kessler no doubt is far beyond any challenge he has faced (hard for me to say, but it is true). I know Ward's work mentality and he will train like never before for this fight. His team will come up with a plan to beat Kessler and they will have it down to a science. Ward has some of the best foot work, speed and agility I have ever seen. He will avoid Kessler all night long and attack with precision and make it count

It will be a great technical fight and I am looking forward to this much more then the first two Super Six bouts. Good thing for me is Pantera is on the same card so I will e lucky enough to watch these two great fighters from ringside!

Well we all know Palle mismanaged Kessler.

I'm dissapointed...... Still I respect your opinion. What do you see in Ward that will make him a bigger challenge for Kessler than Mundine?
        Back at you buddy! Cheers
        You going to the fight?

Ward strikes me as a fighter who wants to get better as a boxer. He was hard on himself after the Miranda fight and admitted that he needed to improve on some things. The problem is, the clock is ticking because a more experienced fighter is gonna beat him and he'll have to learn more on the job and not let that loss affect his frame of mind.

What are you talking about this will definitely go to a decision. Kessler does have the power but he's not KOing Ward (i hope and trust so) and Ward unfortunately doesn't have enough power to KO Kessler.

At best we can hope for a good technical fight and may the Ward cough the best win

A learning loss is actually good for young fighters. Hopkins lost early, many greats did, nothing wrong with that. The kind of loss no one wants to (or is able to) learn anything from is a KO loss or a brutal beating like Cotto vs Margarito but this is very unlikely for any of these two...
              That said, Ward UD 12.

                Very good post.

Bat had mentioned the Kessler-Mundine fight earlier, and that's what I think this fight will resemble. However, despite the fact Mundine was more experienced, there is no doubt in my mind that Ward is a superior fighter. I'm expecting a much closer version of that fight.

As a big Kessler, I am slightly worried about this fight. I've said all along that Ward is being underrated and his style is one that will give Kessler problems. Sure, Kessler will jab a lot, especially to the body early, but virtually everything he does comes off it, and Ward does have the footwork, agility, and speed to slip it and counter. To me, it's a matter of how long he can keep it up.

Another element in Ward's game that he displayed prominently against Miranda was his willingness to fight on the inside and in clinches. I think Kessler will be the bigger and stronger man come fight night, but to me, he's always looked uncomfortable on the inside.

We all knew Miranda would have fought Kessler if Palle didnt disappear for weeks after Warrior's agreed to every single one of his demands.

Everyone was pissed at Palle including HBO.
Actually the 10 round show fight was set to be on Showtime, Miranda turned down the HBO fight for the WBA belt.

I like the title. It's so cold war.

American Pride runs strong as Ward feels he has to crush the evil Danes, and their sleek, efficient, modernity.

                    LOL.
