You could tell most of these people posting on here have no boxing knowledge. Weight does not make you hit harder is the way you use your weight and if you know how to put your feet, waist and body all together with speed that's how you get proper punching power. Shawn is still green Cotto would murder this kid at 147. Shawn is a little small for 154 I think he is about 5'9 he fights more like Shane Mosley than Cotto... Omar henry fighs similar to Cotto, before you guys start saying that he is going to be a beast he has to fight some top level fighters before we say that. His chin has not being tested yet we will see only time will tell.

don't get mad cause team pac comes out w/ ****. if cotto wants exposure, he would do the same and let his sparring sessions and sparring mates talk to the public, but that's not cotto's style. cotto is very low key and private.

as for the clip... porter looks faster and more explosive than cotto and probably stronger too. compare how they do padwork... porter hits w/ speed and power... cotto limply jabs and placidly throws his right hand. its embarassing watching a pro do padwork so slow.

but that says nothing about what they do in ring.... just saying, it doesn't seem like cotto goes all out in training, especially padwork.

i have a feeling shawn is a bit taller than 5'7 anyway.

a lot of the heights are inflated in boxing. they use to list vargas and oscar at 5'10 and 5'11. they weren't. tito was a legit 5'11 and he was a bit taller than them.

cotto stans ****ting on a nice prospect just because he's getting attention for sparring with pacquiao.

the kid has a great amateur background. golden gloves , amateur world championship level pedigree.

yes he's only had 10 fights and is green but no need to **** on the kid.

it's nice some good prospects get a little attention.

he has decent skills , great amateur experience and looks in good shape. i'm gonna keep an eye out for him next time he fights.

Christ you come off as a hater. Take Cottos scrotum off of your tonsils for a second. No one is saying Porter is better than Cotto. Just that it isnt too far fetched that he hits harder. And being bigger is meaningful in punching power you idiot, especially when youre a puncher like Porter is.. I high doubt Porter can make 147. He says he is around 165 and thats him trying to keep his weight down. And Cotto wouldnt destroy anything unless you mean run around the ring throwing 1 jab at a time. Outbox yea, destroy, no.. Im not really sold on the thing that the man is his father. God bless Porter's father wherever he is but this man for sure is his older brother and ha been taking care o him like a real dad.
