What if Pac loses to Cotto and Mayweather decides to fight Pac and his reasoning is "that's the fight everyone wanted to see." How acceptable would that be on a scale of 1-10? 1 being not acceptable and 10 being extremely acceptable.

On the one hand Mayweather should be fighting the winner, but on the other hand there's still that curiosity of Mayweather - Pacquiao.

Whatever he does he will get hated on whether its before the fight or after. He could sign today to fight Pac to much appplause from haters and if Pac loses and he still fights him then he will be hated on, remember he signed to fight Zab before Zab lost to Baldy, people were happy, Zab lost then they hated on Floyd for still fighting him.

Stylistically. I think Floyd vs. Pac is more interesting. I think Mayweather can potshot Cotto all night for a UD because of his speed and defense, but he'd have a tougher time doing that against Pac.

It's a 7 for me. I think he should just fight both. One right after the other. I don't care in which order. They're both interesting fights.

Fair enough he should fight the winner, but also people wanna see Pac, this would be a no win situation for Floyd, but fact is, he shoulda fought Cotto a long time ago, but never. That way he wouldn't have to worry about it.

If Pac loses to Cotto it will prove that he cant contend with a top tier WW. Mayweather should fight the winner of the Pac/Cotto no matter who it turns out to be. Plus if Cotto gives Pac a real beating then people will say Pac wasnt the same fighter when Mayweather faced him, etc.

I'd be disappointed, but I would still want to see Floyd fight Pacquiao. It's a completely different type of fight than Pac's fight with Cotto will be.
