    Seriously though...

What do you think if all boxers take risks?

It would even be better if there's a commanding body who can just pinpoint your opponent and you cannot do anything about it.

Or a voting system where fans will participate. It will declare on who a boxer should fight next. It gives thrills to fans and the fighters as well. because no one knows who the boxer will be fighting until the voting is closed and final.

gaddaman! wouldn't that be great? We should push this idea.... LOL

Exactly, how many fighters could win at one weight, fight arguably the top guy 3 divisions above that a year and a half later, and even be considered to have a chance? Just fighting Cotto tells you something about Pacquiao.

With this, I agree with RA the Rugged Man that Mayweather needs to fight the best at least at his on weight.

Pacquiao on the other hand, he may not be cleaning up the division like 135, etc. But he's still fighting bigger guys.

And the thing that amazes me is that he takes RISKS!
It don't matter to him if the opponent is bigger or has more advantages as long as he knows his body can take it.

He's a gambler. He's like playing poker with no hand and making a bluff.

gaddamn!!! IMAGINE IF ALL OTHER BOXERS TAKE RISKS.

Don't you think boxing will be the greatest sport ever in the eyes of many?
great post. Floyd will always be the better fighter no matter what, manny could never ever beat floyd. But manny will be recognised by the fans as the better warrior and loved by far more people. He is the true epitome of p4p best, fights anyone and takes risks. the same cannot be said about floyd. mayweather doesnt even know what the word risk means.

Better Fighter, HELL No. You don't call his bouts FIGHTS.

Better Boxer, at this very moment, he probably is.

I think Mayweather at 135 and below his record cant be questioned and he fought and beat prime Castillo and Correlas. Post the lightweight divison I dont think he has particulary covered himself in glory ...but has won titles against fighters who have styles he feels he can beat. His risk adverse (taking his template from Roy Jones) strategy to match up mirrors his style in the ring. Dont get me wrong he is making his living and certainly sells his fights, however dont give it billy big bollocks if you arent prepared to back it up.

As for Manny the same to an extent can be levelled. Oscar hugely drained at 147 but Manny still had to take care of business does this fight make him great? No however he is hitting the home straight of his career and is more interested in big money fights (whatever the weight) rather than titles. Facing Cotto even 2lbs below the welterweight limit represents a massive task, ok so Cotto needs to work a little bit harder to make weight but fair play to him for taking the fight. Manny has a style to embarrass him potentially and lets face it Cotto has more to lose here, Manny could however get slapped around the ring. I think respect should be given to both fighters for trying to make the fights people want to see.

What will be interesting is who many takes on after this? Another war with JMM at 140?

If Mayweather wants plaudits he should have fought Hatton at 140 and should be fighting the likes of Cotto (who I think he would beat). If Moseley beats Berto surely he will get Mayweather?

I respect Mayweather's ring craft but I think he needs to look at his record before he starts shouting his mouth off
