think vargas-trinidad except cotto isn't as good or as tough as vargas and he's smaller as well.

Cotto is the better boxer, he might get off to a good start, hold a lead halfway through the fight but Trinidad would wear him down and eventually knock him out in about 8 or 9 rounds.

tito's left hook was a game ender at 47...i think he catches cotto early to mid rounds and puts him to sleep

Trinidad normally took a few rounds to get going and I think Cotto's skills would give him a few problems, Cotto's jab would be able to throw Trinidad off balance as well, Trinidad used to put way too much weight on his front foot which meant that a good jab would offset him. But once Cotto starts fading like he normally does, it's game over.

excellent point with the jab...i overlooked that...DLH built that huge lead behind the jab...hopkins stalled his attack with it and winky....geezus...he made jabs looks paralyzing

Yep, I'd say it'd play out similar to that.

I might have given Cotto a chance to survive the later rounds and clinch a close decision. But, we have to go by precedent here, and Cotto crumbled vs a guy who only has the size and stamina of Trinidad (Margarito), Trinidad had that plus explosive one punch KO power and better technique.
