Trinidad Wraps were much different than Margarito's - Naazim

This should finally settle what I've been saying all along.
Margarito didn't have anything resembling PLASTER in his hands. The whole thing is over some knuckle pads (which are soft) that Nazeem is over exaggerating to make himself look like some sort of good samaritan.
If Tony keeps those on, his punches don't have any more pop than if not.
The only reason his license was taken was because they constitute an infraction under the current guidelines, but they aren't dangerous.
I'd like Kevin Iole and that scumbag Dan Rafael to take note and stop mentioning Margarito and plaster in the same sentence when talking about him.
Maxboxing and The Ring did the best reporting on this from the get go and they always said knuckle PADS, and not plaster.
But somehow HBO, ESPN and the rest of the idiot media keeps perpetuating the plaster myth.
I can't wait till Tony returns!!

Remember when you argued this **** w/ me in the summer? And I told you it was knuckle pads and you kept laughing and making up plaster lies?
Apologize to me now and tell me I was right.
Straight from Richardson's mouth.Comment

But for some reason people have been running w/ Dan Rafeal and Iole's version of events where they make up the plaster wrap thing.
I'm glad Richardson did this interview so people can stop repeating the "handwraps dipped in plaster" nonsense.Comment

lets see margarito jump to MW/SMW and have 3-3Comment

No, because you can't have pads in your wraps. It constitutes an infraction by CSAC rules.
I suspect a lot of this was due to the fact that Capetillo and Margarito just didn't know they were illegal.
Honest, harmless mistake. The commission had to suspend him though, the issue was made into a huge deal by HBO and the boxing press.
Doing nothing wouldve made the CSAC look inept. It was a political move more than anything.
Well they found pads in the wrap, It fell out according to everyone that was present, That was why he was ban it has nothing to do with HBO or the media. Even the hardest Margarito fan would accept that he didnt make any mistake, He did what he had to do got caught doing it and was ban (Rightly so), Now he has serve his ban and am really looking forward to him coming back but to claim "Honest mistake" is borderline on ******ness no offense.Comment

There's also the issue of Nazeem agitating Capetillo, much the way he acknowledges himself that he did in the Tito camp.
The reports were that Capetillo was on the verge of kicking his ass, maybe in the heat of rage he wasn't paying attention to the wrapping.
Either way, I'm glad that its out that it wasn't plaster. Which is all I've been arguing all along.Comment

Honest in the sense that they probably didn't know something as benign as some knuckle pads were even illegal.

Its not a plaster cast but its a knuckle pad that was hard, Which was liking to a plaster of paris, Both trainer and Boxer have been in boxing for 20 years so the innocent mistake or not knowing what an illegal knuckle pad is nonsense to me.
But like i said before Margarito has serve his sentence and am looking forward to seeing him fight again.Comment
