  • Name ANOTHER ATHLETE with the WEIGHT of a COUNTRY on his shoulders???

    A athlete other than pacquiao.

Only one i can really think of right no is Sachin Tendulkar, if people in here know what cricket is they will know who i'm talking about!!!

    Federer could be one.

Phelps had that pressure for a while during the olympics, but on a constant basis only pacquiao and tendulkar come to mind.

bull**** on that one.. he means real weight, not just representing.

here are some real examples: the U.S. hockey team during the 80s against the Soviet Union.

Joe Louis against Max Schmeling in their rematch.

As much as I'd love for that to be the case, he doesn't. He's no where close to how Karelin is looked up to in Russia.

b/s on that one. They had no pressure b/c people assumed they were going to lose. Only reason why people give a damn about that is b/c they won.

You're only saying that because you don't know who half those people are or why they had the pressure on them. David Beckam went from hated pariah to national hero in that one match and single handedly took on an entire team.

Mikkel Kessler. Him and Caroline Wozniacki are the only superstars in Denmark, so Kessler carries the weight of a nation.
