who else thinks that is one of the worst matchups for khan to take? this doesnt seem like a good dec by his matchmakers when they could continue to feed him bums and over the hill fighters and collect big paychecks. another ko loss to a fighter without a huge name may seriously damage his career and prevent a huge payday against a guy like hatton.

I think Khan lost that Prescott fight because he tried to turn into a slugger and basically switch his whole style up for the first time, largely based on the demands of his one-off trainer for that fight. You can't turn into a good slugger in one training camp, it's a completely different way of fighting. If he'd boxed Prescott, it might have been a different fight. Khan is more experienced now training under Roach, plus he's matured physically since that defeat, so I think the Maidana fight is now a real good match up. Maidana has the power to KO Khan, but Khan has the skills to either wear down Maidana for a late KO or win on points. Probably be a very good fight whatever happens.

Facing Maidana would be a bad move, the man has heavy hands and can throw 1000+ punches over.

He wouldn't be able to throw much as Khan is always giving lateral movement with his high guard and fast shots, but Khan would feel Maidana's shots on his guard and they'd eventually get through. Khan has a better chin at 140, but it's still under par. Maidana KO9
