I liked what Teddy Atlas said about former olympian fighters

about their level of competition when they turn pro.

He compared it to going to Harvard and after graduating then playing with crayons

Well at least Ward will be in with Kessler soon so we can see how he does at the next few levels up.

i think it depends on the fighter and his management.

some fighters have a chip on their shoulder and feel as though they have to prove themselves in the pro's because they had a good AM career. others need to be eased into the pro ranks because of their style or because of their mindset.

i think management plays a huge part in it as well, look at khan hes been wrapped in cotton wool, played it safe with a steady stream of tough, skilled but ultimately feather fisted fighter. warren has navigated him through the ranks and i think he will do the same with degale, gavin and billy-joe. others like kostya tszyu were taking on fighters like hector lopez and angel hernandez.
