If you wanted to take the sparring footage seriously, Porter lands a pull back counter jab when Pac missed with a weak jab. Cotto can land that same punch, and it's going to make an impact if he does.

One would expect a Middleweight to overwhelm a boxer who was fighting at Super Featherweight only last year. That's a 24 pounds difference! It's more shocking to see the reverse happening. The fact that Porter continues to be the main sparring partner of Pacquiao only shows that Pac can handle him... and he better get a feel of the power of a true welter/middle weight so he won't get surprised on fight night. Sparring with Porter gets Pacquiao well adjusted to the higher weight class.

Pac kd porter 2x also so it shows at least his power has come up to the weight. Porter hasn't kd pac yet so pac seems to be able to handle the power. The sparring was after he was said to kd porter 2x but was during a time where Pac wasn't focused. I don't think they'd be showing that if they thought it was a big deal. Maybe they wanted to show that so that miguel underestimates Manny.

Your basing Pac on a about 10 seconds of sparring that was shown by HBO. How many rounds did they spar, how many of those that Porter dominated. Remember, we even read in the internet that Pac was doing good in sparring in Manila.

And why did Cotto show only snapshots of their sparring. You can say they don't want to show their strategy. Nothing against Cotto and i am a fan of him but he will fight the same thing as he usually does. And like the HBO and other boxing critics, Cotto's trainer is young and he is not much known. Maybe the PR fans here know more about him but he seems(compare to Roach), inexperience.
