another african fighter gets screwed. perez was getting credit by showtime and the judeges for throwing punches and not landing any.
If you pay attention to the replays, you would see that a lot of Perez's punches didn't land flush at all because of the way that Agbeko took steam off of them with his upper body movement. That was a bad decision even though the fight was give and take and neither guy dominated.

I had Agbeko winning definitely, but that was amazing, I had a great time watching that fight

And yeah, that ref Robert Byrd made a horrible call by calling that knockdown. Agbeko caused the head clash, but he didn't go down by a punch and Perez hit him when he had his back turned.

I thought Perez was stronger and threw harder punches in the beginning but began to threw weaker and softer punches as the fight progressed.

I am glad you saw how many punches perez missed..it was a robbery based on how wide the scores were. I didn;t perez a round after 8. he was missing in every exchange and agbeko was landing clean punches. this was a fight were if you watch it closely perez would throw 10 punches and land 2 and agbeko would throw 5 and land 3.

he got no credit for the body head combinations.

Perez Outlasts Agbeko In A True Halloween Thriller

By Jake Donovan - Bantamweights Yonnhy Perez and Joseph King Kong Agbeko exhausted their bag of tricks in treating boxing fans to a true Halloween thriller Saturday night at Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After 12 furiously paced rounds in an instant Fight of the Year contender, it was Perez’ surprising ability to outwork the equally tireless Agbeko en route to taking a unanimous decision and a portion of the splintered bantamweight title in a minor upset.

Both fighters weighed in at the bantamweight limit of 118 lb.

As expected, a fast pace was set from the outset. Rare is the occasion when any opponent is able to outwork Agbeko. Perez, Santa Fe Springs, CA by way of Cartagena, Colombia, didn’t quite manage that, but landed enough power shots late in the round to keep him honest.

Perez’ power game was enough to force Agbeko, Bronx, NY by way of Accra, Ghana, to change roles early in the second, landing out of reaction rather than forcing the action. That changed midway through, when Agbeko landed a right hand on Perez’ chin, but the Colombian was able to weather the brief storm and close the round strong. [details]

Does anyone know the punch stats? They threw non stop. I wonder if it was close to any record?
