The thing that worries me is the fact that Demarco stands too upright. He got hit a lot in the Adajo fight. But in this fight, he tightened up his D really well even though Alfaro was one-dimensional.

Again, that's because Pitalua has that same freak power that Valero has. Other then that, he's ass. And that's kind of a moot point since every fight in the beginning of Demarco's career was a life and death fight. The guy would just brawl non stop. When he does that he's smothering his leverage and looks like a ****ty fighter not even worth mentioning. And even if Demarco had a solid chin, lol Valero could crack it regardless.
But as long as Demarco can stay moving, find his shots, make Valero walk into some straight lefts, and makes sure that if a Valero punch has to land, it's only a grazing shot by rolling with it, or leaning away from it...If he can do that, he'll be giving himself a decent chance.Comment

Basically Demarco needs to fight the perfect fight just to have a decent chance on beating Valero. I agree.Again, that's because Pitalua has that same freak power that Valero has. lol Well no ****, I mean who's gonna stand up to that power at this point? But fighting a perfect fight against Valero isn't exactly mission impossible either. The guy fights like a caveman. He's just beggin to be picked apart. That's what makes this fight so intriguing. Cause it's not outside the realm of possibility for Demarco to pull this off. Especially after how Demarco's been performing.Comment

i think Demarco is awesome but Valero is going to knock him out probable in the first 4-5 rounds. Only way anybody is going to beat Valero is by being able to out physical him and force him to backup.
If he can be agresive and fight his fight he'll never lose because NO ONE can take his punch.Comment

Actually Reyes came back from an early flash knockdown and dominated DeMarco from rounds 9-12 and he's not even known as a puncher. Adjaho was teeing off at will on DeMarco as well. He's good because of his physical size and southpaw stance but I don't think he'll ever be elite. He doesn't have an iron chin, huge power or exceptional stamina.Again, that's because Pitalua has that same freak power that Valero has. Other then that, he's ass. If he's fighting timid against guys like Reyes and Adjaho I think he'll be immediately intimidated the moment Valero lands a powershot on him.
Valero starts all his fights blazing fast and aggressive. If DeMarco can make it out of the first 4 rounds alive his chances may improve slightly of going the distance against Valero.Comment

not true, because it wouldn't have been Pitlua who got the next shot at Santa Cruz. Golden Boy would've been all over him to put him in with Juan Diaz next. Let's be honest here. And Pitalua, wasn't a top 5 lightweight. Valero's power is real, his defense is not. Put him in with the champ Juan Manuel Marquez, and JMM looks like a great again. I would pick DeMarco over Valero now, but it would be a good fight. If Edwin bothered to learn defense (it's hard when your knocking everyone out) he could blow-up in popularity, but the kid keeps his chin high in the air and comes forward hands down. Sometimes great power is more of a detriment than a positive; while it can build you a fanbase and bail you out of trouble, but if it is all you rely on, you will not learn your craft properly and always look for the big shot instead of creating them for you.Comment
