Is Boxing still a Young Man's Game?

Time waits for no man; unfortunately everyone grows old. Some might argue that age only gets better with time, like vintage wine. Others might say it's better to be young in order to keep that edge and stay sharp. Youth plays a significant part in the boxing game. However, it's only one part.

With a wide range age of boxers competing and training, is boxing still a young man's game?

    YOUNG FIGHTERS
    PROS:
    Agility/Speed/Reaction (Physical)
More time to groom in the Amateurs; more exposure
    Greater development as a pro
    Bigger opportunities

    CONS:
    Inexperience
    Naivety
    Mentally inadequate
    Impatient
    Distractions

    OLDER FIGHTERS
    PROS:
    "Old Man" Strength
    Patience
    Experience
    Mentally focused and determined
    Semi-decent promotions; mediocre gate

    CONS:
Less time to develop in Amateurs
Lower starting point on the Ladder
    Deterioration: Mental and Physical
    Other obligations and responsibilities
