Referees needs to be held criminally responsible when they allow one fighter to assault another in the ring. That fight was filled with flagrant headbutts and rabbit punches, and the ref didn't do **** about it.

      Thank you Everyone

This is Al Seeger and I wanted to thank Jake and everyone else here - for an excellent article and coming to my defense.

This is the first day a serious headache hasn't kept me from getting online.

I do believe that Fonseca purposefully used his head as a weapon throughout the bout. This morning was the first time ive seen the video.

The butt that caused me the most damage seemed to occur at 2:28 of round two. Its not a great angle to see, but i can hear the crack it made. For the rest of round two and three there is also an obvious indentation in my forehead.... this was the result of my sinus cavity being smashed inwards. I think after the third round, the area started to swell which made it appear normal again.

The doctors who viewed my scans and fixed the damage have emphatically reiterated how lucky i am to be alive. Apparently, once the cavity was smashed, every subsequent blow contained a much greater danger.

I would like to contend this loss with Texas and ask that the result be changed to a No Contest. Im not looking to punish my opponent or anyone else - but i don't think he should be rewarded either. A message must be sent out to fighters - that headbutts are not ok. They are extremely dangerous and should be looked at more seriously.

Im not sure if my boxing career is over or not. If it turns out to be so - im ok with it. Im satisfied knowing that i didn't have to cheat to win. Hopefully my healing will come well and i can get back to training again soon.

Reading this article and the comments attached has been a Great Honor.

Thank You again Jake and everyone here at BoxingScene.

Glad to see you're OK Al, I watched that fight and that Fonseca is a dirty ****er. The best news is you're OK and it wasn't more serious, wish you nothing but the best in the future.

Al you have a good point about the headbutts it hurts like hell sometimes when I smack my padded head into someone elses in sparring. So minus the headgear i'd imagine it's quite a disorienting thump. However, glad to see your up and running and were able to beat the odds. I hope some sort of similance returns to your life. I doubt professional boxing is in your future and that can be painful. I unfortunately understand that all too well. But no matter, good luck sir and I hope better fortune finds you and health always stays with you.

This really has been a tough stretch for boxing. I'm glad to hear Seeger is okay. It's unfortunate that these tactics were allowed throughout the course of a fight.

I hope you are feeling better now Al. I've watched the fight, and I think something should be done about Fonseca's game. That guy really did you bad.

Thanks for the kind words Al. Glad to hear you're doing better. No fighter should have to endure what you've been through the past six months; props to you for maintaining positive spirits every step of the way.
