I agree, Johnson is a guy who's gonna always be there, still Im sure they weighed the risk somewhat in taking an immediate rematch. Im almost sure he got paid more for Tarver so why not take the fight. Besides Hopkins(who's busy now), Johnson and Cloud there really isnt anyone else at 175.
Dawson's Team and HBO have try to sly........

Because Im sure Tarver had a rematch clause, Dawson wasnt his mandatory.Comment

Tarver had a rematch clause because he was the champion, Johnson didn't because he was the challenger. Plus, you make it seem as if Dawson actually wanted the rematch, when he clearly didn't. In his own words ''it was a waste of time''.
Another thing that should be considered is that Johnson was never any type of mandatory, Dawson willingly fought Johnson since he was a good name and took that fight as a stepping stone to bigger money fights. So in reality, he really doesn't owe Johnson anything.
Thanks for the kind words. No offence take you glasses off and get your head out of dawsons ass!Comment

Dude, you're a joke. Why you nut hug Chad and down talk Hopkins constantly when Bernard is a way more intelligent and skilled fighter in the ring is beyond me.Comment

They have waited 19 months to get the remtach on with Glen, hoping his age will have caught up with him, he will be nearly 41 come fight time. Why didn't Dawson's team give Johnson the rematch right after there first fight?
Because they didnt want to risk Dawson losing his precious 0 against the road warrior. So they thought we will wait until he gets older and slower, and then take the rematch.
As we stand a much chance of beating him.
Man, I really hope Glen can pull it off!
WAR Glen!
Dawson couldn't rematch Glen Johnson right away because he had to deal with mandatory Adrian Diaconu. At that time Dawson was holding the WBC belt. Dawson skipped a fight against Diaconu and fought Tarver instead.Comment
