Although he has been wobbled/hurt in many of his fights it seems like he always manages to steady himself. Even in the case with Margarito he went down on his own accord. So do you think he will walk through Pacs shots?
Does Cotto actually have a pretty good chin?

Cotto has a very good chin at 147 because he's not drained... If you are repeatidly hit hard and clean by Margarito and Mosley and you dont go down... Then that chin is grade A stone... He wont walk through Pacquiaos shots though, Cotto wont go down against Pacquiao but without a doubt Pacquiao can hurt him... Hurt him enough for the fight to be stopped -
I think he does. People these days see a fighter get buzzed or hurt and all of a sudden they got a weak jaw. If anyone can find a video of Cotto getting KO'd by one solid punch or even KO'd for the count on the floor at all, let's see it.Comment

Even as much as I like Cotto I am not going to suggest he will dismiss Pacquiao's power. I think his chin is solid, though.
Cotto is going to be 2 pounds lighter and with a relatively unseasoned trainer. To counter that, Pacquiao is dealing with havoc in his home country, so that cannot be good. I also think Roach is pushing Manny around too much.
Still, all told I REALLY want Cotto to win. Manny will recover from a loss whereas Cotto will not.Comment

I think he will get hurt not by the power, but the speed. You know the cliche "The punches you never see coming hurt you the most," well it's true. Margarito is slow and plodding so none of his punches took Cotto by surprise.
See: Pac-DLH round 7 (1:26 in vid), he never saw the left hook coming. This was where DLH had to steady himself with his glove on the top rope.

Boxers seem to graduate weight classes as they mature. Cotto's brief encounters with the canvas happened at light welterweight where it is reported that making weight was taking a harder toll on him each time he had a bout at 140.Comment

I agree 100%. He also recovers from being stunned/hurt very quickly when it does happen (see Judah, Corley, Torres and even 7th round Margarito). He has a great chin at 147. 140 just drained him too much- not enough fluid around the brain = easily hurt.Cotto has a very good chin at 147 because he's not drained... Pacquiao can definitely accumulate enough punishment to earn a stoppage by ref or doctor (if Cotto's face is really cut up).Comment

Since moving to welterweight, definitely. He was hurting himself making 140, which is why he got wobbled a couple times, but since moving to 147 he has withstood some bombs in fights and took them well.Comment
