    My thoughts on the fight.

The fight was very close, Joval was busier than what I thought he would have been.

In the first round, it worried me Vargas was jumping into A LOT of shots it was like he was diving and pushes his punches. As the fight progressed Vargas did a little better. One thing I didnt like about the fight was the ref, I thought was Joval did was disgusting to Vargas he held onto his glove and kept punching him. The ref should have taken proper authority to this. Plus the low blow, but the ref was behind Joval...Very bad officiating.

Joval brought it but not enough, I had it much closer than most 6-4 in favor of Vargas even a 5th could go to Joval.

Vargas looked like crap, his defense was good but aside from his few nice lefts his punches werent really all of that spectacular. But I keep in mind he has been off with MAJOR injuries. The HBO commentators made some bull**** calls to hype Vargas up.

But overall not top caliber and his fight tonight wouldnt make it in the top class but he has rust and I will be looking forward to seeing Vargas again and hope he recovers well.

I was impressed with Vargas I mean c'mon he hasn't faught in 15 months and has all kinds of health issues. He fought pretty damn good and got some rounds in. Plus he boxed smart.

thi fight reminded me of johnson tarver, a busier Joval but a more accurate vargas. I sure hope he doesn't try and fight this defensive passive counter style with a more accurate puncher/brawler.

Mayweather-The thing that I am worried about Vargas more so than his back is his Thyroid problem, in boxing where weight is a major issue that could kill your career in an instance. Hopefully he can rebound though, I cant be to criticizing of him as you stated he had more than a year off with nagging injuries. It isnt like he just took the time off to eat enchiladas.

Exactly, I think we should all look at that fight as a sparring session. Vargas was off over a year and he just got a new trainer, I think next time we see Vargas fight is when we can truley judge him.

He was rusty, it was blatant

If he would have thrown his jab more the fight wouldnt have gone 10 rounds.

I thought Vargas was carrying him, b/c I thought he had Joval kinda stunned a few times. Then he just seemed to be thinking too much which actually probably helped him not get ROCKED too hard b/c Joval was a pretty big guy...natural 160lbs.

He needs one more fight against a B class opponent before Castellejo. Although Castellejo is old play it safe with a vulnerable Vargas. One more knockout and he'll just be another gatekeeper or just fight off his name for cash.

Was it me or did anyone else see Vargas's eyes kinda crooked or cross=eyed? Maybe it was the camera angle but still can those hits to the head knock ur eyesight off?
