Pacquiao To Jump on Cotto in The First Round

Pacquiao will start fast against Cotto

That is the strategy forward coach Filipino boxer Freddie Roach

Miguel Cotto and his trainer Joe Santiago has been extremely frugal when asked about the strategy that will lead to the ring on November 14 when they take on Manny Pacquiao.

But the responsibility for preparing for Pacquiao, the loquacious Freddie Roach, has not mince words when answering questions from the press and even brought forward the strategy.

"We need to be quick and aggressive from the opening bell," Roach said in an interview with the newspaper philstar.com.

Roach said his tactical plan is based on taking advantage of the habit of starting cold Cotto.

"Miguel always starts slow. The idea is to avoid hot, that does not grab the momentum, because you can get very strong as the battle progress, "the quoted strategist, who recently returned to his gym, the Wild Card in Los Angeles after spending several weeks difficult in the Philippines with Pacquiao.

The first weeks of training were in Baguio, a mountainous region north of the Philippines and, after going there several hurricanes called typhoons in the region-moved for the last week in the capital, Manila.

On Sunday arrived in Los Angeles and the city will train until the week before the fight, when they will move to Las Vegas.

Roach was emphatic that the way to defeat Cotto is going to him.

"I believe that the way to beating it for him, started pushing and avoid imposing his strength. If you see his videos, he has been injured in the first assault in at least seven times and been knocked down twice in the early rounds, "said Roach, who last week predicted that Pacquiao would knock out Cotto in the very first assault .

Simply to Roach, the idea is to "start fast and finish strong."

The megachoque Cotto, Pacquiao will be at a maximum weight of 145 pounds, but for the welterweight championship that owns the Puerto Rican.

It's Pacquiao's style to do that but Cotto is a different animal, so I'm not expecting him to do that. Pacquiao is gonna go in rarely and box from the outside by the 6 or 7th round, we should see a different Pacquiao by then.

Cotto wont be able to handle that storm in the first round mark my words... I'm not saying he's gonna knock Cotto out I dont think Pacquiao can do that but Cotto will be a bloody pulp by the end of the fight... He will either loose by UD or the fight will be stopped... Cotto WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HANDLE PACQUIAOS FOOT AND HAND SPEED... He will also have the superior strategy thanx to Freedy Roach... Cotto doesnt even have a trainer

Thats the problem Platano you people re expecting Pacquiao to become this master boxer overnight. and he aint, plus thats not his nature. The same happend with Clottey, people expected him to become this huge perssure fighter, throwing lots of punches and having KO power, wich didnt happend because Clottey aint neither of those.

Pacquiao will try to box and soon as he gets hit, he will try to fight back and he will get starched!!!!

Cotto starts slow because his opponents usually start slow too. In both the Judah and Mosley fights, both Judah and Mosley were throwin early in the fight and Miguel was there and ready to fight. Him being a patient fighter is one of his big assets, but he can go toe to toe if need be once the bell rings.

I hope he doesn't do it.

Pac should preserve his balls until the championship rounds.
