    EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: PAUL WILLIAMS

*****: Paul how disappointed are you that Kelly Pavlik pulled out once again? [Pavlik has an infected finger

Paul Wiliams: I'm disappointed because a lot fans paid their money to go to Atlantic City and he pulled out like this again. He cost a lot people their time and money. It's kind of upsetting but that's just part of boxing. I got to look forward to whoever I get in there next with.

BT: You were supposed to be fighting at 160 pounds but now it looks like you'll be fighting at 154. Will that be an issue for you?

PW: No, it's not going to be no big issue with me. We are close to the 160 mark, putting on weight. Now we just need to take it on down. I don't think it'll be to hard to do that you know. It looks like we'll have enough time and I'm game for it.

BT: Are you definitely fighting on Dec. 5th and has an opponent been finalized?

PW: The fight is supposed to be finalized and I think it's still December 5th. It's definitely finalized to be a fight on that date, we just don't know who it's going to be against.

BT: Does it looks like it will be against [WBC 154-pound titlist] Sergio Martinez?

PW: Yeah, we're already dropping the weight because Martinez is what everybody is talking about. That's the fight that should happen for his WBC belt.

BT: What do you need to change in your preparation for Martinez?

PW: The game plan I had for Pavlik I have to break that all down and start back over fresh. It'll be a left handed guy now [Martinez] so we'll be doing something different. It'll be a test but one I'm going to pass.

BT: Are you interested in fighting the winner of the upcoming Manny Pacquiao- Miguel Cotto fight [Nov. 14th]?

PW: I would love the to fight the winner of Pacquiao-Cotto fight but, I figure that's not going to happen. When I had the 147 belt and stuff I couldn't get a fight at 147. So the winner of that fight I don't think they'll give me shot. I'd loved to get in there with Paquiao or Cotto would could win. I'd love to get in there and make my mark again as the welterweight champion but, it's up the fans and the networks and stuff to make them fight me and stuff.

BT: Do you think Floyd Mayweather would be willing to get in there with you?

PW: I've been calling him out for a little minute now but, like nobody's saying stuff about that. I know the Internet is real hot about me fighting me fighting him. You got my word right here I'd definitely like to fight him. It's up to him to make the decision to get in there with me. My word is yes I'd definitely fight him.

BT: Would you like to see a tournament like what's going on in the super middleweight division take place at either 160, 154, or 147?

PW: It's good for boxing to get the top guys of that weight and put them in a tournament and stuff. I wanted to do that with the welterweight division when I was fighting there. I wanted to have everybody with the belts you know what I'm saying fight for the belts but, they didn't do that. They got this tournament and that'll be good for boxing though putting up the belts and finding out who's the best.

BT: What did you think of the first round of the tournament?

PW: I had Jermain winning. I saw him doing the most in the fight you know what I'm saying. Abraham throwing little combinations and stuff trying to steal the round. He was winning he just got caught.

BT: And the Carl Froch vs. Andre Dirrell fight?

PW: To me Andre did enough to win but, you know with champion he was fighting you can't be leaving doubts in peoples minds. When you fighting a champion you got to straight take it from a champion. He waited a little to long to throw his punches and stuff. He had speed and was frustrating him with his movement and stuff. I think he should have been punching on the move and making it more convincing that he won the fight.

BT: Would like to try again to get Pavlik in the ring or do you think he'd pull out?

PW: He's going to pull out again. This is the third time he pulled out. So we know he ain't going to fight. He's costing everybody to much money and stuff. We set the dates and everybody buying their tickets and stuff. Buying plane tickets and making hotel reservations and all that and he just pulls out. It was supposed to be October and then December and then he pull out again. Somebody said January 23rd and he's going to do the same thing again.

BT: Anything you want to say to your fans?

PW: To my fans out there you know I will be fighting december the fifth against Martinez. I'm sorry I won't be a four time world champion but I will be a three time world champion. To everybody who paid their money I'm sorry it happened like that and you know I'm definitely going to put on a good show for ya'll.

Mr. Hall,it's real simple,if u already like another fighter between 147-160,chances are ur gonna hate the Punisher, why,?cause he beats ur guy!!It bugs me to know end that people always say well who has he fought, the Punisher wants to fight the best, but the best are scared, then u got people that everyone wants to fight, then they fight lightweights,it's not good for boxing!!
