Duran beat great champions from 130 pounds, after starting at 118, up to 168 pounds. He also took on the best in every division he was ever in, including WW where he beat two HOF fighters, one of which is a top three ATG WW and top ten/twenty ATG P4P.
Mayweather won't even fight the best WW's of today, none of whom are even on the ATG radar in any division or even close. You lose.
Anyway, enough of that wanker.
I felt sorry for Davey Moore in that fight. He just got taken apart brutally and I still can't believe that the ref didn't stop it after the first knockdown. He had no idea where he was and it was obvious he couldn't go on. Such a terrible thing. I hated that referee for letting it go on, even though everyone was screaming at him to stop it, until the commissioner had to tell him to stop it.
The corner was just as much to blame too. They should have known he was done after the KD too, but they just let him keep getting beaten on and beaten on and beaten on. I hate that side of boxing. The idiots that are the referee's and cornermen that don't protect the interest of their fighter and let them be horribly taken apart when it's absurdly obvious to everyone that they could never win even with a super lucky hayemaker because they just sometimes don't have anything left even if a huge punch landed, and that was one of those fights.
Princepoopa: It wasn't an intentional thumb either you moron. Have you even watched the fight? It happened after Moore took a right hand and started touching at his eye. That happens, and it wasn't intentional and if you look for it you'll never find it because it's not there. Go somewhere else and try to convince yourself that Mayweather is better. He never will be and never could be.
